About Craig da Luz
Craig da Luz is the head varsity baseball coach at St. Augustine High School in San Diego. Prior to taking the helm he spent four years as the assistant varsity coach and spent one year at
Division 1 baseball power, the University of San Diego as an assistant coach. He is a member of the Saints Athletic Hall of Fame... While at Saints Craig lettered three times in baseball and was
named Team and League MVP, All-League, All CIF, and All State in 1993. He played collegiately at Fresno State University where he received several awards and conference honors.
In 1998 Craig was selected to play on the Portuguese National Baseball Team to compete in the European Championships. He was also drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the MLB June Amateur draft and
chose to sign a professional contract. Craig spent 4 years in their minor league system reaching the Double A level before incurring career ending baseball injuries.
Craig has been providing personal baseball instruction and consultation for over 18 years. He is also a certified fitness instructor - receiving his certification through the International
Sports Science Association (ISSA). He also holds both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters in Education.
Craig brings a wealth of baseball experience and knowledge both as a player and coach and will instill and fortify baseball fundamentals to encourage continued skill development with the
ultimate goal being a sound batter, fielder,and thrower. His clients will grasp the mental approach needed to have a successful and fun filled baseball experience. Through this approach his
athletes have become far more advanced in their skill set as well as their physical and mental makeup. This has allowed his athletes to reach their peak performance.
